Sharing Experience on Raising a Puppy

About 2006.12.30

Fido [fee-doe] has been living with us since he was 8 weeks old. He’s 2yr + 8 1/2 months old now. I guess I can say I have been successfully raised a somewhat behaved dog. Recently a friend of mine just got a puppy Boston Terrier and I have been supporting her with all the knowledge I could remembered. She was amazed on what I know and asked me why don’t I help more people. Yeah, why don’t I?! So here it is. I will write down all the things I helped my friend with as well as any additional things that I have experienced. Have fun reading!

As a well experienced puppy (now doggy) owner, I am hoping my experience of raising my dog will give other puppy owners a relieving feeling that you WILL see the light at the end of the tunnel! Feel free to leave comments and I will try my best to help.

Rocco doesn’t like his treats or any chew toys, like Kongs stuffed with chew toys. Every books says that they will LOVE this and will be busy for hours. My pup has no interest. Any advice?

  2. Cecilia Says:

A lot of dogs have the same reaction to the Kong like Rocco. I don’t want to advertise for Kong but if you use the Kong stuff treat somehow dogs go nuts with the “aroma” of the treats! The other things is if your dog is a puppy, you can also try the flavored paste by Kong, and follow the instruction on the can by only giving a minimum amount to the dog, that should keep your puppy crazy busy for at least 30 Minutes! Let me know if this helps!

  3. Rocco Says:

Thanks puppy 911. Rocco is repelled by the kong stuffing… strange… but i have finally got him interested in the kong cookie treats… so wish me luck on the 30 minutes!

I am glad I can help! And please let me know how Rocco is doing. Give the little one a kiss for me.
